How It Works
Visit any Pet Supplies Plus that has a self-serve pet wash. Once you arrive, pay at the front register and proceed to the self-wash station of your choice (a team member can show you where they are). Our self-serve pet wash will be ready with aprons (to keep you dry), towels and dryers. Use your own shampoo, conditioner and brush or comb. You can also purchase these products at our stores. Plus, many of our pet washes have free Play On shampoos for you to use.
Wet Them Down
Brush their coat first (tangled fur can mat when wet), then drench your pet with lukewarm water. Cold water doesn’t clean very well or feel that great.
Shampoo & Sit
Work the shampoo into a good lather, massaging it into their coat. Avoid sensitive areas like the eyes and face. Let the shampoo sit for a few minutes.
Give a Good Rinse
Thoroughly rinse the shampoo off your pet with lukewarm water. If the products you’re using come with directions, make sure you follow them.
Dry Them Off
Start with towels, finish with our blow dryers. Don’t leave any damp spots in their undercoat (they can lead to hot spots). Once dry, brush their coat.
